THE COMPLETE BRONTE SISTERS COLLECTION: JANE EYRE

Rightcous, courageous and compassionate - Jane Eyre is the eponymous protagonist of this Victorian bildungsroman. Written by Charlotte Brontë under a male pseudonym, this is the story of a young girl in England, orphaned and mistreated but with a strong will to survive. In a society that constantly attempts to put her down and limit her ambitions, Jane struggles against biases of gender and class and against petty vendettas and malicious intents, all in a bid to achieve what her heart desires: freedom, dignity and perhaps even love.
